SafeKids Family respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal data when you use the SafeKids Family mobile app (the "App").
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Purpose of the App
SafeKids Family is designed specifically for parents or legal guardians to monitor their own children. This app is not a surveillance or spyware tool.
All monitoring features require explicit parental consent and clear user awareness, and the app displays a persistent notification while monitoring is active.
2. Information We Collect
We collect data necessary to provide the core functionality of the App.
2.1 Account Information
Parent email address (used for authentication and account management)
Child profile identifiers created by the parent
2.2 Location Data
Real-time location
Location history (routes)
Location data is collected only when the parent explicitly enables location sharing for the child profile.
2.3 Device and Usage Data
Device model and operating system version
App usage events (for stability and debugging)
Child device battery status (if enabled)
Screen Time and App Usage Data
The App collects screen-time information, including which apps are used on the child's device and usage duration. The App may also process screen-time limit configurations set by the parent.
This data is collected via Android Usage Access permission and used only to provide parental monitoring, usage insights, and screen-time restriction features.
Screen-time data is collected only when this feature is explicitly enabled by the parent.
2.4 Messages and Communication
Only messages sent within the App
No access to SMS, call logs, or third-party messaging apps
2.5 AI-Powered Parenting Assistant
Questions voluntarily entered by the parent
AI-generated responses for parenting guidance
AI features are parent-triggered and do not automatically access a child's location, messages, or personal data.
AI processing is limited to prompts and context explicitly provided by the parent.
The AI assistant does not continuously monitor a child device in the background.
3. How We Use Data
We use collected data only to:
Display child location on the parent device
Enable in-app messaging between parent and child
Provide screen-time insights and restrictions (if enabled)
Improve app performance and security
Provide AI-based parenting support only when requested
Screen-time and app usage information is visible only to the parent account linked to the child profile. This data is not used for advertising, analytics profiling, or marketing and is not shared with unrelated third parties.
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data.
4. Background Location and Transparency
SafeKids Family uses background location only when:
The child profile is active
The parent has enabled location sharing
The child device has granted required permissions
Background location is used only for core safety and parental monitoring functions. Location data is never used for advertising or unrelated analytics. A persistent foreground notification is shown while tracking is active.
The child-side app experience includes persistent visibility indicators (such as ongoing notification/status cues) when monitoring features are active.
5. Legal Basis and Consent
Parents provide explicit consent during setup.
Children are monitored only under parental supervision.
Consent can be withdrawn at any time by disabling features or deleting the account.
Verified parent access requires authenticated sign-in, verified parent email, and re-authentication for sensitive actions such as account deletion and critical permission changes.
Additional abuse-prevention checks may be applied when suspicious activity is detected.
6. Data Sharing
We do not share personal data with third parties except as required below:
Firebase / Google services (authentication, database, crash reporting)
Only to the extent necessary for secure app operation
App activity and screen-time data are processed solely to provide core functionality and in line with Google Play Data Safety requirements. All service providers are expected to comply with applicable data protection laws.
7. Data Retention
Data is retained only while the account is active and as needed for core safety and service operation.
Parent account profile data: retained while the account is active.
Location history and route records: up to 180 days unless deleted earlier by the parent.
Screen-time and app usage records: up to 90 days unless deleted earlier by the parent.
In-app messaging records: up to 180 days unless deleted earlier by the parent.
Technical logs and diagnostics: up to 30 days, except where longer retention is required by law or security investigations.
Parents can delete child profiles at any time. When an account is deleted, related data is removed as soon as technically possible, subject to legal exceptions.
8. Account and Data Deletion
Parents may request full account and data deletion at any time.

We process deletion requests within a reasonable period.
SafeKids Family Account Deletion
You can permanently delete your SafeKids Family account.
Delete your account in the app:
Open the SafeKids Family app.
Sign in with your parent account.
Go to Settings.
Tap Delete Account.
Enter your password and confirm.
What will be deleted:
Account data (parent profile)
Child profiles
Location history and live location records
Messaging records
App usage and screen-time records
Alert records
What may not be deleted immediately:
Records required for legal compliance (if applicable)
Billing records kept by payment providers (Google Play, etc.)
Deletion timing:
Deletion starts after confirmation.
Data is removed as soon as possible; short technical delays may occur.

9. Children's Privacy
SafeKids Family is built to align with child protection principles, including COPPA and GDPR-K.
This app is not intended for independent use by children.
All child data is managed by parents.
No advertising or profiling is performed.
10. Security Measures
We use industry-standard security practices, including:
Encrypted data transmission
Secure authentication
Restricted internal access
However, no system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
Data in transit is protected using TLS (HTTPS).
Data at rest is protected using server-side encryption provided by our infrastructure providers.
SafeKids Family does not currently claim end-to-end encryption for all data categories.
Decryption and data access are limited to authorized systems and personnel strictly for service operation, security, and legal compliance.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
