This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal data when you use the SafeKids Parental Guide mobile application (“App”).

1. Purpose of the Application
SafeKids Parental Guide is a child-monitoring application designed exclusively for parents or legal guardians to monitor their own children.
The App is not a surveillance or spying tool.
All monitoring features require explicit parental consent and user awareness, and the App always displays a persistent notification when monitoring is active.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only the data necessary to provide the core functionality of the App.
2.1 Account Information
- Parent email address (used for authentication and account management)
- Child profile identifiers created by the parent
2.2 Location Data
- Real-time location
- Location history (routes)
Location data is collected only when the parent explicitly enables location sharing for a child profile.
2.3 Device & Usage Data
- Device model, OS version
- App usage events (for stability and debugging)
- Battery status of the child device (if enabled)
- Screen Time and App Usage Data:
- The application collects screen time information, including which applications are used on the child’s device and the duration of use for each application.
- This data is collected using Android Usage Access permission and is used solely to provide parental monitoring and usage insights to the parent account.
- Screen time data is collected only when the parent explicitly enables this feature.
2.4 Messages & Communication
- Messages exchanged within the app only
- No SMS, call logs, or third-party messaging apps are accessed
2.5 AI Parent Assistant
- Questions voluntarily entered by the parent
- AI responses generated for parenting guidance
AI features do not access child location, messages, or personal data automatically.
3. How We Use the Data
We use collected data only to:
- Display a child’s location on the parent’s device
- Enable in-app messaging between parent and child
- Provide screen time insights (if enabled)
- Improve app performance and security
- Provide AI-based parenting assistance only when requested
- Screen time and application usage information is visible only to the parent account associated with the child profile.
- This data is not used for advertising, analytics, or profiling purposes and is not shared with third parties.
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data.
4. Background Location & Transparency
SafeKids uses background location only to provide real-time tracking when:
- A child profile is active
- The parent has enabled location sharing
- The child device grants the required permissions
- Background location access is used exclusively to support the core functionality of child safety and parental monitoring.
- Location data is never used for advertising, analytics, or any purpose unrelated to child safety.
A persistent foreground notification is always displayed while location tracking is active.
5. Legal Basis & Consent
- Parents explicitly grant consent during setup
- Children are monitored only under parental control
- Consent can be withdrawn at any time by disabling features or deleting the account
6. Data Sharing
We do not share personal data with third parties except:
- Firebase / Google services (authentication, database, crash reporting)
- Only as required to operate the App securely
- Application activity and screen time data are processed only to deliver the app’s core functionality and are handled in accordance with Google Play Data Safety requirements.
All service providers comply with applicable data protection laws.
7. Data Retention
- Data is stored only as long as the account is active
- Parents can delete child profiles at any time
- Upon account deletion, all associated data is permanently removed

9. Children’s Privacy
SafeKids complies with child protection regulations (including COPPA and GDPR-K principles):
- The App is not intended for independent use by children

We use industry-standard security practices:
- Encrypted data transmission
- Secure authentication
- Restricted internal access
However, no system is 100% secure. We continuously improve our safeguards.
